In a bid to stimulate regional travel and promote Singapore as a premier destination, AirAsia, in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Gardens by the Bay, and Mandai Wildlife Group, has introduced the ‘Love, Singapore’ aircraft livery. The launch of this special Airbus A320 livery marks a strategic effort to attract visitors from Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, coinciding with the peak year-end travel period in the region.
The newly unveiled aircraft features a vibrant design that highlights Singapore’s most celebrated landmarks. The livery prominently displays attractions such as Gardens by the Bay and Mandai Wildlife Group’s renowned parks, including Singapore Zoo and Bird Paradise. Additionally, it showcases Merli, Singapore’s lively and engaging brand character inspired by the Merlion. This initiative is designed to captivate regional travelers and encourage them to explore Singapore’s diverse and dynamic experiences.
Terrence Voon, Executive Director for Southeast Asia at the Singapore Tourism Board, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We are thrilled to work with AirAsia and our tourism partners to bring Singapore’s attractions to life in the skies. With our array of events and experiences, we aim to provide compelling reasons for travelers to visit or revisit Singapore this year. We invite travelers to take advantage of the excellent deals associated with the ‘Love, Singapore’ aircraft livery and plan their next trip to Singapore.”
The launch of this livery is a significant milestone for AirAsia, marking 20 years of operations in Singapore. Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, Managing Director of AirAsia Malaysia, highlighted the importance of this partnership. “We are excited to collaborate with the Singapore Tourism Board as we celebrate two decades of operations in Singapore. Currently, AirAsia operates 454 flights weekly connecting Singapore to Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, recognized as the world’s busiest, plays a crucial role in tourism. This partnership is an ideal opportunity to leverage our extensive flight network and strengthen our connections with neighboring countries.”
Gardens by the Bay, a prominent feature in the new aircraft design, is honored to be part of this initiative. Addison Goh, Senior Director of Business Development at Gardens by the Bay, remarked, “We are delighted to be featured in this collaboration with AirAsia and the Singapore Tourism Board. Recently voted the top attraction in Asia and the eighth best globally in TripAdvisor’s 2024 Traveller’s Choice Awards, Gardens by the Bay is committed to showcasing our horticultural wonders to a broad audience. We are eager to share our unique offerings with travelers from across the region.”
Jean Choi, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Mandai Wildlife Group, also expressed excitement about the campaign. “We are thrilled to showcase the enchantment of our wildlife parks in such a unique way. With continuously evolving experiences, including special events like the Night Safari’s 30th Anniversary, there is always something new for visitors to discover. As part of the ‘Love, Singapore’ campaign, AirAsia customers can benefit from special promotions on park admissions or opt for our ParkHopper bundle, which offers access to four parks at the price of two. It’s an ideal opportunity to visit Singapore and enjoy meaningful wildlife experiences.”
