Violent Unrest in Dublin After School Stabbing Incident
Dublin witnessed widespread chaos and violence on Thursday as clashes erupted between protesters and police following a knife attack outside a school that left three young children injured. The incident, described as the worst unrest in Dublin in years, unfolded after a five-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in what is suspected to be a stabbing in Parnell Square East, north-central Dublin. Two other children and two adults, including a woman and the alleged attacker, were also hospitalized.
Reports indicate that social media rumors about the assailant’s nationality fueled tensions, contributing to the unrest. Police Chief Drew Harris attributed the violence to a “complete lunatic faction driven by far-right ideology” and cautioned against the spread of misinformation.

The injured included a five-year-old girl with serious injuries, a five-year-old boy, and a six-year-old girl with less severe wounds. The suspected attacker, a man in his 50s, was deemed a “person of interest” by the police.
