CEO Mikael Petterson has acknowledged that the previously mentioned date may be subject to slight changes due to ongoing issues. Passengers in Belfast are currently awaiting a new departure date as the ship undergoes final preparations, causing a delay in their travel plans.
Unexpected complications with the ship, formerly known as the Braemar and acquired from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has caused a delay. Early issues with the ship’s grey-water tanks were further complicated by the need for new rudder stocks. An unexpected complication caused a disruption in the carefully planned schedule for receiving and launching the ship.
In a statement made on July 27, Petterson voiced his frustration regarding the timing issues. In a statement, he expressed confidence that the launch would take place in the upcoming week while acknowledging the challenges of sticking to the initial timeline. In light of the tight turnaround, the planned schedule was carefully designed with minimal buffer time. The cruise itinerary is now being questioned due to the delay. If there are any additional delays, the scheduled stop in the Faroe Islands may be skipped, according to Petterson. Despite facing various obstacles, nearly 320 out of the projected 350 cabins have already been purchased. It is anticipated that around 200 individuals will embark on the journey from Belfast. Approximately 40 passengers had already registered with Life at Sea before its cancellation.

To enhance security measures, Holmes’ venture has devised a plan to refrain from accepting deposits until a ship is confirmed. Instead, guest funds will be held in escrow, providing an additional layer of protection.
