The accolades underscore the nation’s commitment to providing exceptional experiences while promoting sustainable tourism. Latia Duncombe, Director General of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, expressed pride in the achievement. “Winning these awards is an incredible achievement for The Bahamas. It reflects our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable tourism while providing unforgettable experiences. From our pristine beaches to our state-of-the-art sports facilities, we strive to exceed the expectations of our visitors. This recognition motivates us to continue on our path of excellence,” she remarked.

Duncombe further highlighted the country’s focus on developing its sports tourism sector. “Over the years we have also focused on growing our sports tourism sector – from sailing regattas, fishing tournaments and athletic events – we offer a dynamic playground for sports enthusiasts, so we are thrilled to take home the award for the Caribbean’s Leading Sports Tourism Destination.”

The Bahamas, with its 16 major islands and hundreds of smaller islands and cays spread over 100,000 square miles of the world’s clearest ocean, is a treasure for travelers.
