Minor Hotels has unveiled plans to rebrand the Peace Resort Samui as NH Collection Samui, marking the introduction of the NH Collection brand to Thailand. This rebranding, effective from January 1, 2025, follows an extensive property upgrade and aligns with NH Collection’s reputation for European sophistication and luxury.
Located on Bophut Beach, on Koh Samui’s northern shore, the 122-key property offers an ideal blend of seclusion and accessibility. Nestled at the foot of a lush hill, NH Collection Samui will provide guests with a tranquil retreat while being conveniently close to shopping and entertainment options. Originally founded in 1977 by the Pupaiboon family, the resort has long been a favorite among both Thai locals and international tourists, maintaining its independent charm over the decades.
The rebranding to NH Collection Samui signifies not only a change in name but also an enhancement in guest experience. The resort’s proximity to the lively Fisherman’s Village, known for its variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, adds to its appeal. Just 400 meters away, guests can also access the amenities of the Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, a sister property under Minor Hotels, further enhancing their stay with additional upscale leisure and dining options.
NH Collection Samui is designed to accommodate a wide range of travelers, from solo adventurers to large families. The resort offers a mix of deluxe rooms, bungalows, and villas, some featuring private pools and direct beach access. This variety ensures that all guests can find accommodations that suit their preferences and needs.
Dining at NH Collection Samui promises to be a memorable experience. The all-day dining restaurant offers a fusion of local and international cuisines, complemented by stunning ocean views. The strategically located bar between the pool and the beach serves an array of beverages, while the Indigo Lounge, situated near the lobby, provides a serene setting for enjoying tea and pastries. For a more personalized dining experience, guests can arrange private in-villa BBQs, ideal for seafood and meat enthusiasts.
The resort is well-equipped with recreational facilities, catering to both adults and children. Fitness enthusiasts can make use of the modern gym, while water sports activities are available for those seeking adventure. For younger guests, the resort offers a cinema, an indoor play area, and an outdoor playground shaded for comfort. Additionally, a well-stocked retail shop ensures guests have access to all necessary amenities, and flexible meeting and event spaces highlight NH Collection’s commitment to intuitive service, advanced technology, and innovative design.
Mark O’Sullivan, Vice President of Operations for Bangkok, Samui, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai, expressed his excitement about the partnership with the Pupaiboon family and the introduction of the NH Collection brand to Thailand. “We are thrilled to partner with the esteemed Pupaiboon family to bring the first NH Collection hotel to Thailand as part of the brand’s expansion outside of Europe and the Americas,” said O’Sullivan.
He also hinted at potential future developments, including standalone villas and branded residential units, to meet the growing demand for upscale holiday homes and investment properties. This strategic vision aligns with the broader trend of enhancing travel experiences and catering to diverse traveler needs, reflecting Minor Hotels’ commitment to growth and innovation in the hospitality sector.
NH Collection Samui is conveniently located approximately 15-20 minutes by car from Samui Airport, ensuring easy access for international and domestic travelers. Additionally, Nathon Pier, which provides ferry connections to popular destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Phangan, is just a 25-minute drive away. This strategic location not only enhances the resort’s appeal but also makes it a central hub for exploring the surrounding regions.
With the addition of NH Collection Samui, Minor Hotels continues to expand its footprint in Thailand, bringing the total number of properties on the island to five and over twenty across the country. This growth underscores Minor Hotels’ commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences and reinforcing its position as a leading player in the global travel industry.
The transformation of Peace Resort Samui into NH Collection Samui represents a significant milestone for Minor Hotels and the broader hospitality landscape in Thailand. By introducing the NH Collection brand to this idyllic destination, Minor Hotels is set to elevate the travel experience for guests, offering a blend of luxury, convenience, and cultural richness. As the rebranded resort prepares to welcome guests in January 2025, travelers can look forward to an enhanced stay that combines the best of Thai hospitality with European refinement.
