Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a significant new venture in Jakarta, Indonesia, with plans to introduce the first Andaz-branded hotel in the city. The new property, named Andaz Jakarta Sudirman, will be part of the Two Sudirman Jakarta development, a high-profile mixed-use project set to become one of the tallest skyscrapers in the country. The hotel is expected to open its doors in early 2028.

The announcement marks a milestone for Hyatt as it expands its footprint in Indonesia, where it already operates a diverse portfolio of properties under various brands. This new Andaz hotel will be situated in the heart of Jakarta’s central business district, aligning with Hyatt’s strategy to bolster its presence in the luxury and lifestyle segments. Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will complement the Andaz Bali resort, which opened in 2021, and will be the first urban Andaz hotel in the country.

David Udell, Group President of Hyatt Asia Pacific, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with PT Central Sudirman Development for the first time on these plans to bring the imaginative and self-expressive ethos of the Andaz brand to Jakarta. Hyatt has had a brand presence in Indonesia for over 50 years, and we are committed to thoughtful growth of our brands as we strengthen our position in the luxury, lifestyle, leisure, and wellbeing space.”

The Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will be housed within Tower A of the Two Sudirman Jakarta complex, which is currently under construction. Located along Sudirman Street, the central artery of Jakarta’s business district, the development will feature two towering skyscrapers. These towers will house a mix of residential units, food and beverage outlets, retail spaces, and office facilities.

One of the significant advantages of this location is its connectivity. The development will be well-served by Jakarta’s MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and LRT (Light Rapid Transit) systems, and will offer direct access to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport via the Airport Rail Link. This connectivity is expected to enhance the convenience for both business and leisure travelers visiting Jakarta.

The Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will occupy the 40th to 72nd floors of Tower A, providing guests with breathtaking city views. The hotel will feature 198 rooms and 167 serviced apartments, all designed by Tokyo-based Design Studio Spin. The design will embody the unique Andaz brand ethos, offering a blend of luxury, comfort, and modern aesthetics.

Amenities at Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will include a signature Andaz Lounge, a state-of-the-art fitness center, an outdoor pool, and multiple dining options. The hotel will offer an all-day dining venue, a bar, and a specialty restaurant located on the top floor, providing guests with a variety of dining experiences and spectacular views of Jakarta.

Hendra Lubis, President Director of PT Central Sudirman Development, commented on the partnership, saying, “We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Hyatt and the introduction of the prestigious Andaz brand to Jakarta through our Two Sudirman Jakarta development. This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering a world-class destination that combines luxury, innovation, and authentic local experiences. With Andaz Jakarta Sudirman, we aim to create a landmark that not only enhances Jakarta’s skyline but also enriches the city’s hospitality offerings, setting a new standard in urban living and hospitality excellence.”

The arrival of Andaz Jakarta Sudirman is poised to make a significant impact on the city’s hospitality landscape. The combination of high-end amenities, strategic location, and innovative design aligns with the growing demand for luxury and lifestyle accommodations in Jakarta. As the city continues to develop and attract international visitors, the new Andaz hotel is set to become a key player in the luxury hotel market.

Hyatt’s decision to expand its Andaz brand into Jakarta reflects broader trends in the hospitality industry, where there is a growing emphasis on unique and personalized guest experiences. The Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will contribute to this trend by offering a distinctive blend of local culture and modern luxury, catering to both business and leisure travelers seeking high-quality accommodations in the heart of Jakarta.

The introduction of Andaz Jakarta Sudirman represents a major development in Jakarta’s hospitality sector. With its prime location, luxurious amenities, and innovative design, the new hotel is set to enhance the city’s appeal as a global travel destination. As Hyatt continues to expand its presence in Indonesia and beyond, the Andaz Jakarta Sudirman will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of luxury hospitality in the region.
